You won't find me in any of the lakes, but there's some real good fishing in the area !

DNR Is up to their same old tricks to cost you more money. You used to be able to catch frogs, crayfish, lake herring, sturgeon and turtles with your regular fishing license, now if you wish to take these you must buy the All Species License. Anything to write a ticket or make a buck.

There is one new thing that's good this year, now you don't have to be a criminal to have a few fish in the freezer.

In addition to one day's daily possession limit of fish, a person may posses an additional two daily possession limits of fish taken during  previous  fishing days provided that the additional limits of fish are processed (canned, cured by smoking or drying, or frozen).

Make sure you read your rules good, lots of changes this year, especially in the stream regulations, 82 changes this year. Good luck understanding them.

We need Ice!!!!! They are getting some good catches of Steelhead, and have also been told that the Eyes are biting good on Rose. This weather could not be better for fishing Eyes this time of year. I really do hope it cools down soon though, Ice no snow is what we hope for here.

12/01/2011

Here we go, a skim of Ice on the edges today. It can't hold out much longer.

01/03/2012

Well it sure did take a long time to get ice this year but I believe its here to stay. Use care because it still is first ice.

01/08/2012

Getting some real good reports from quite a few places. Good catches of crappies on rose and a couple of eyes. Gills on big long a plenty of ice and making new every night.

01/24/2012

The warm and the rain was great, did just what it was suppose to. Got rid of the snow and made it so the lakes could freeze even better, not bad walking again either. Time to get out and catch some fish.

Trail Permits this year cost $45.00 thank your DNR

                           Good Luck Fishing

            But always be careful!
